What is a curative education nurse, what is a curative education nurse and why do you actually need one?<\/p>\n\n

Democracy Day took place at the Alice Salomon School on November 9.<\/p>\n\n

On this day, all classes dealt with the topic of democracy.<\/p>\n\n

Democracy is when all people in a country have a say in decision-making.<\/p>\n\n

The HEP 22 class also took part in the Democracy Day. The pupils wanted people with disabilities to have a say in decision-making. <\/p>\n\n

What should they be involved in deciding?<\/p>\n\n

They should decide about their lives. And they should have a say in deciding who helps them. <\/p>\n\n

Curative education nurses can help them.<\/p>\n\n

Therapeutic nursing is an apprenticeship. You can also say HEP. A HEP is a person who helps other people. People with disabilities. <\/p>\n\n

What you can learn at school is set out in a curriculum.<\/p>\n\n

This curriculum is to be rewritten.<\/p>\n\n

People with disabilities should be involved in the decision-making process.<\/p>\n\n

Sophia Kirst<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • She would like to become a waitress. But she would also like to become a HEP. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sophia is very active in clubs. She plays theater. She plays soccer. She makes music. She is in a carnival club. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sophia knows several HEPs. She thinks they are good. She is satisfied with the work of the HEPs. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • She would like more support from HEPs with paperwork. Writing applications is difficult for her. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sophia also needs someone to drive her. Unfortunately, buses and trains don’t run very often. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Tamer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Tamer likes to read a lot or watch television.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • He likes to go out in good weather. But when the weather is bad, he stays inside. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • He took part in the shift change. He liked that a lot. He worked at a recycling center. You collect waste at a recycling center. This is waste that you can’t throw away at home. You can use this waste again. You can make new things out of it. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • In his spare time, he volunteers to clear up the garbage lying around outside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • It is a barrier for him to meet up with friends. It takes a long time for him to get there by bus. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Fatih<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Fatih works in the workshop. He wants more money. That’s why he washes trucks at the weekend. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Family is very important to him. He travels to Turkey with his parents every year. They visit relatives there. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • He also enjoys acting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • He needs more support in dealing with money.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • HEPs should work with and support the group. They can help with vacation planning and shopping. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
