Experiential education in the Austrian Alps<\/p>\n\n

Since the 2011\/12 school year, the BBS Linz has been organizing an experiential ski trip with great success, in which personality development, social competence, willingness to learn, problem-solving skills, communication skills and confidence in one’s own performance, that of one’s partner or that of a group are to be promoted within the framework of a one-week experiential education program. action-oriented method …”, “… in which the elements of nature, experience and community are combined in a pedagogically targeted way.” This offers each participant an unforgettable experience that takes place outside the usual classroom. The ski resorts that have been visited by BBS Linz so far include the Obertauern ski resort in the Hohe Tauern, which offers the best conditions for both beginners and advanced skiers, and the Saalbach Hinterglemm ski resort. <\/p>\n\n

Our accommodation in Saalbach: Eibinger Hof<\/p>\n\n

In February 2020, the Ludwig-Erhard-Schule, David-Roentgen-Schule and Alice Salomon Schule held their first joint ski camp in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Austria). 70 pupils and 9 supervisors practiced skiing and snowboarding for 5 days at different levels of ability. A lecture on safety and dangers as well as nature conservation measures in the high mountains, two trips on the night ski slope and a ski rally on the last day formed further training content. At the end of the week, the training schedule included technical examinations (e.g. advanced sports course) as well as assessments of the students’ stamina, motivation, teamwork and willingness to make an effort. A successful trip, in which the commitment of the teachers involved in terms of taking on responsibility and dedication formed an important basis. <\/p>\n\n
