Today we, the BFP22, middle course of the generalist training, had the great pleasure of welcoming Mr. Andr\u00e9 Dehn as a guest speaker at the Alice Salomon School in Neuwied. Mr. Dehn, who works as a nurse and nursing scientist (B.Sc. Nursing Management, M.A.), gave an impressive account of his life as head of an outpatient children’s nursing service “Balthasar” on the subject of “Children with life-limiting illnesses”. <\/p>\n\n

Mr. Dehn began his presentation with an introduction to the complex and often challenging tasks of an outpatient child care service. He explained the importance of specialized care and close cooperation with the families of the children concerned. Using examples from his practice, he illustrated the emotional and professional challenges involved in caring for children with life-limiting illnesses.The personal stories and experiences that Mr. Dehn shared with us were particularly impressive. He spoke about the importance of empathy, patience and expertise when dealing with seriously ill children and their families. He also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation, which is crucial for providing the best possible care and support for the families concerned. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Mr. Dehn’s visit was extremely enriching and gave us deep insights into the world of caring for children with life-limiting illnesses. We would like to thank Mr. Dehn for his inspiring lecture.
