Six colleagues at the ASS say goodbye

BBS Alice Salomon said goodbye to 6 deserving colleagues at a beautiful summer party at 34 degrees in the shade.

Laura Steinebach (at ASS since 2012) is moving to BBS Montabaur, Britta Holle (at ASS since 2015) is moving to BBS Lahnstein and Yvonne Bachem (at ASS since 2021 and a member of the school management team since 2022) is moving to Bad Neuenahr/Ahrweiler on the other side of the Rhine.

Doris Schulte-Schwering would like to thank all three of them for their great commitment to our school and wishes them all the best for the future.

And then three “veterans” of BBS Alice Salomon were sent into well-deserved retirement:

Bernd Menningen, who has taught German and social studies at our school since 1994. “Dear Bernd, for me you were always an extremely pleasant colleague, politically committed with a high level of interest and full of identification for the ASS. We will miss you here,” said Doris Schulte Schwering in her eulogy.

Wolfram Ernst, who started at our school in 1994 as a trainee woodworking teacher. “Dear Wolfram, the wood workshop was your second home and I would like to mention a few projects that you carried out with the students in the vocational preparation year for the benefit of the school community: The double garage, a major project. The picture frames in Linz and Neuwied with the pictures that were created in the context of the application for the German School Award. The Snoozel corner in the FS Hep classroom. A theater screen. A total of 5 large cupboards for the Linz school site. A serving trolley,” said Doris Schulte-Schwering in her speech. “Yes, and now it’s over,” said Wolfram Ernst and said goodbye to his colleagues.

Elmar Kanschik, at the school since 2006 with the subjects sport, religion and special needs education. Member of the school management team since 2008. “Dear Elmar, you were THE INSTANT at the school in Neuwied. For most of the students there, you were the principal. You accompanied generations of BVJ students and I was often able to get an idea of what an excellent teacher you were. You were responsible for the BVJ, the BVJ S, the FS Hep, the FS AH, the FS AP and BF P. In between, you were also responsible for the BOS 2. You were in charge of the changeover to generalist training in nursing, which was anything but a small matter. RESPECT for that from the whole school community. But you were really in your element in the gym. The Christmas volleyball tournament you initiated became a legend, as did the great composure with which you overcame all the challenges of the job,” said Doris Schulte-Schwering in her laudatory speech.

All the best for your retirement, dear Bernd, dear Wolfram and dear Elmar.
