Vocational preparation year — Vocational focus

The aim of the BVJ is vocational preparation and vocational training preparation. The school’s own concept attempts to impart professional competence, methodological competence and social competence through interdisciplinary project teaching. Lessons are project-based and practice-oriented. The teaching team has set itself the special task of jointly promoting the personal development of the young people. Special educational support and encouragement is offered by the socio-educational department.

  • 6-week work placement (possibly 2 x 3 weeks)
  • Students who have been assessed as at least “sufficient” in the subjects German, mathematics and vocational learning and work (3 subjects) and can compensate for poor performance in the other subjects and have successfully completed the internship will receive the final certificate of the educational program.
  • On completion of the BVJ, students are also awarded a vocational qualification. This is equivalent to the Hauptschulabschluss.
  • Pupils with a leaving certificate from special school L receive a certificate equivalent to the leaving certificate from special school L if they do not reach the class target but perform at least adequately in the “restricted subjects”.
  • Compulsory schooling is completed at the end of the course.

The application for admission must be submitted to the school in writing using the form provided (available below or from the secretary’s office). The registration deadline is March 1 of the respective year. Lessons take place at the Neuwied school location or at the Linz location.

  • Passport photo
  • certified copy of the half-year report card and the leaving certificate
