Higher vocational school — Social assistance

Qualified secondary school leaving certificate I or a qualification recognized as equivalent

  • School-based professional qualification
“State-certified social assistant” as an entry requirement for the vocational school for social pedagogy (educator) or curative education or other social pedagogical and social care professions
  • Additional qualification
General Fachhochschulreife for the entire Federal Republic of Germany through Fachhochschulreife examination

Full-time: 2 years with integrated practical training

A 16-week work placement must be completed during the course, which is completed partly in block and partly in dual form (2 days per week) within the two school years and exclusively during school hours. An additional 10-week internship must be completed for the Fachhochschulreife. These internships are completed during the vacations. It is also possible to make up the internship periods after the final examinations. In this case, however, the certificate for the Fachhochschulreife will only be issued after proof of the 10-week internship. The Alice Salomon School also offers the opportunity to complete internships abroad via Erasmus Plus. We currently offer internships abroad in the following countries: Finland, Sweden, Croatia, Spain and Italy.
