Technical college – geriatric nursing assistance

  • Proof of vocational qualification or an equivalent educational qualification,
  • the submission of a training contract
  • a medical certificate clearly stating that the applicant is medically fit to practise the profession. This certificate may only be applied for in February.
  • Completion of the 16th year of life
  • Admission to the vocational school is only granted if both a training contract and a current medical certificate of health suitability for the school’s profession have been submitted by July 15 of the respective year at the latest.

“State-certified geriatric nursing assistant”

  • Full-time: 1 year with integrated practical training and 120 hours of external work placement.
  • A training allowance is paid.

Attendance of the 2-year, shortened generalist nursing training with the qualification “Pflegefachfrau/- mann” / “AltenpflegerIn” or “Gesundheits- und KinderkrankenpflegerIn”.

The final examination to become a geriatric care assistant takes place in written, practical and oral form.
