Do you want to shape the future? Do you want to experience adventure every day? Do you want to experience moments of happiness? Then you need to become an educator! With us, you will learn to work with children, young people and people with disabilities.
The requirements for starting the apprenticeship are at least a secondary school leaving certificate + a completed apprenticeship or a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur). If you have not yet gained any teaching experience (e.g. in a daycare center), we recommend that you complete an internship in a daycare center for a few weeks before starting your training.
The apprenticeship lasts three years.
You can complete your training with us either in full-time training over two years with purely school-based training (including 12 weeks of work experience, see below) and a subsequent full year of work experience in an institution. The other option is part-time training (or practice-integrated training). In this part-time training program, you work half-time in a facility for three years and spend the other half of your working hours at school.
We have compiled information on teaching in both courses for you in a padlet.

Classes take place in Linz am Rhein.
In full-time training, the two years of school-based training last a total of 12 weeks, 4 weeks of which are during the school vacations. In the first year, the internship will take place in a daycare center, in the second year either in a school, in youth work or in work with people with disabilities. The final year takes place entirely in an institution (“professional internship”). You will then only be at school for one day a month. In the part-time training program, you work half-time in an institution for all three years. In addition, there are several “work shadowing days” in various institutions to get to know the entire field of work.
They complete their training with the title “state-recognized educator”. At the same time, the successful completion of the vocational school is equivalent to the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences in accordance with Section 11 (7) sentence 6 of the Education Act and entitles students to study at universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate.
