Vocational school I — Health and care

  • Vocational entrance qualification or equivalent qualification without a grade point average specified by the leaving school
  • Compulsory school attendance at a BF I with a different focus exists for all those who have a Realschule plus leaving certificate and are not in a vocational training or employment relationship and have not yet fulfilled the obligation to attend school.

The aim is to acquire basic vocational training in a specific subject area.

  • 1 year
  • The plan is for 38 hours per week with a high proportion of practical lessons in the key areas.

A four-week internship in the field of social care/nursing must be completed. Half of this can also take place during the school vacations.

  • Proof of qualification for the acquisition of basic vocational training
  • The final certificate of BF I is issued if the grade is unsatisfactory in at most one subject and at least sufficient performance is achieved in the subjects “Vocational instruction” and “Practical training”.
  • Completion of BF I Health/Nursing is recognized as an entry requirement for the Fachschule für Altenpflegehilfe.
  • Completion of compulsory vocational schooling, unless a vocational training relationship is established.
