Vocational school I — Nutrition and home economics

  • Vocational entrance qualification or equivalent qualification without a grade point average specified by the leaving school
  • Compulsory school attendance at a BF I with a different focus exists for all those who have acquired the vocational qualification at the Realschule plus and are not in a vocational training or employment relationship and have not yet fulfilled the obligation to attend school.

The aim is to acquire basic vocational training in a specific subject area.

  • 1 year
  • The plan is for 38 hours per week with a high proportion of practical lessons in the key areas.

Info from SJ 14/15: Movement orientation as a consistent teaching principle.

In the Home Economics/Social Work specialization, a four-week internship must be completed in the areas of housekeeping or social pedagogy. Half of this can also take place during the school vacations.

  • Proof of qualification for the acquisition of basic vocational training
  • The final certificate of BF I is issued if the grade is unsatisfactory in at most one subject and at least sufficient performance is achieved in the subjects “Vocational instruction” and “Practical training”.
  • The completion of BF I Home Economics / Social Services is recognized as the first year of training in the training occupation of home economist.
  • Completion of compulsory vocational schooling, unless a vocational training relationship is established.
