Our tasks as school paramedics

We school paramedics ensure safety during lessons, breaks, school events and sports festivals and are trained to provide first aid to injured persons in an emergency and to treat them within the scope of our knowledge.

Thanks to our training, we know how to treat injuries and apply bandages, know the immediate measures to take in the event of poisoning or burns and can initiate life-saving measures in an extreme emergency, for example by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In the event of an accident, we can be reached by telephone at any time and are immediately on hand with our emergency bag.

Important prerequisites are the assumption of responsibility, readiness for action, tolerance and teamwork, because in the school first aid service, the focus is always on working together! We plan our meetings together, draw up deployment plans and take responsibility for checking the bandages and aids provided in the first-aid room.

The training takes place as part of a working group (AG) outside of regular lessons at the BBS Alice Salomon in Neuwied and is supported by the Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V..
